- Divorce, Legal Separation or Annulment with Children: The court will send out notices with the parenting class information to the parties and the attorneys of record within thirty (30) days after completion of service of process in any divorce, legal separation or annulment with children
- Dissolution with Children: The court will send out notices with the parenting class information to the parties and the attorneys of record within fifteen (15) days after the filing of dissolution of marriage action.
- The EXEMPTION FROM ATTENDANCE: Any parent who has attended the Parenting Seminar within one (1) year prior to the filing of any action specified above shall be exempt from the attendance requirements set forth above. A parent may also be excused from attendance by the Court, upon a showing of good cause by filing a motion and entry with the court.
- PROOF OF ATTENDANCE: Upon completion of the seminar, each parent shall receive a certificate evidencing attendance at the seminar that will need to be filed with the court prior to the final hearing. Please make sure that the case number is on the top of the certificate.
- FAILURE TO ATTEND: A final Judgment shall not be entered in the case, until both parties have attended the Parenting Seminar or the Court has excused the attendance of one or both parties, for good cause shown. Failure to attend may result in sanctions, including dismissal of the action before the Court
