Included in the normal staffing of the Richland County Correctional Facility is the need to provide adequate medical coverage for the jail population. The coverage is provided by Southern Health Partners (423-553-5635) which is contracted for the health care of the inmates and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Medical Services personnel provide the ability to deal with initial response to all emergencies on site, as well as to oversee and triage medical concerns. The staff nurses are responsible for ordering all medications to ensure proper treatment for adequate health care at the facility.
